Meet The Founder 

 

Hi there, I'm Dasha!

I'm a certified health and wellness coach, founder of The Balanced Method and a recovering people pleaser. 

 

Here's a bit of my story...

From the outside, my life always seemed peachy. Lived in San Diego, had a successful corporate job and amazing relationships, but on the inside I was battling burnout, fighting horrible digestive issues and acne, stress ruled my every thought. I felt so drained all the time and so out of control in my own body. I wore pleasing people as a badge of honor. I was so good at taking care of everybody and everything else in my life, that I became my last priority.

I knew I hit rock bottom when other people’s problems became more of my priority than my own, and I woke up every single day uninspired to do anything. 

I started to experiment with different diets and exercise classes, which had me waking up in the morning excited and saying “I look a bit skinner, it’s working!”. But then I’d have one day of poor eating or a night out with my friends, and I was back to hating my body and feeling so much shame and hopelessness. I decided to enroll in a yoga retreat even though I was skeptical that anything “spiritual” would actually change my life, but it did. 

For the first time, I slowed down and heard my own thoughts. It felt so weird to sit with my emotions, and I felt so much resistance, yet I still felt called to keep coming back to that experience. I started to focus less on counting calories and more on eating nourishing foods that fed my body and soul. I started listening to my inner voice and making choices guided by my intuition. 

Rather than focusing on shedding pounds, I was releasing self limiting beliefs, stress and anxious thoughts. My skin was clearer than it ever was before, I had endless amounts of energy, my digestion was incredible and people started telling me I was literally glowing-- something I have never heard before. And best part of all, I was doing better in my job than I had ever before. 

It finally all clicked. My body was telling me everything I needed to know to be healthy, I just needed to listen. It was never just about the diet or the exercise class that was going to get me the results I hoped for. 

The answer was always within me. 

 

When I saw what living a healthy lifestyle did for me, I knew that I wanted to help others feel the exact same way.
